UK, October 14: Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique hopes Manchester City are not stripped of any titles.
City face severe punishments, including the possible removal of past triumphs, after being found guilty of multiple breaches of the Premier League's financial regulations.
Luis Enrique, whose side face City at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League on Wednesday, does not want to see the record books rewritten.
The Spaniard said: "I hope everything works out well for Man City because I think what they have done on the pitch has been incredible over the last few years and they certainly deserved to win all the trophies they have won.
"The trophies you win on the pitch remain on the pitch. They deserved to win that and I hope they can avoid the sanction.
"But now we have to wait to see what the authorities decide or the judge is going to say."
Luis Enrique could renew acquaintances with Pep Guardiola after Wednesday's game, with the former Manchester City manager expected to make his first visit to the Etihad Stadium since standing down last summer.
The pair are friends and former Barcelona team-mates, but Enrique gave little away when asked what they might discuss.
"The things I will say to Pep I will do in private," he said at a press conference.
While City have appealed against the independent commission's guilty verdict, they continue to look strong on the field.
Enzo Maresca's side are three points clear at the top of the Premier League with six wins from six after Sunday's 3-0 triumph at Liverpool.
"We are going to play as we always do, attack all the time," said Luis Enrique, who has a full-strength squad available at the twice reigning champions.
"Obviously there are some small details playing a team like Man City but our mentality is always the same.
"We will try to attack all the time, a bit like Man City do. I used to watch Pep's Man City. I always watch Man City as a supporter.
"I like to watch Enzo Maresca's teams play. They are very open, very attacking." Forward Ousmane Dembele dismissed a suggestion it could be a good time to play City.
He said: "It is always difficult regardless of it being a good moment or a bad moment. They have a high quality team, world-class players and a top coach as well. It's always tough playing Manchester City."
Dembele returns after being rested for the weekend win over Le Mans.
Dembele said: "Of course I am very competitive and I want to play every game but you can't play them all. I was happy with it, we have to trust the manager on these things."
